Tuesday, March 31st
11:00am - Tim has been moved to a private room. It's in the Richardson Tower of the hospital, room R472. He can have visitors at any time, there is no schedule. Donna and Torrey saw him move his right arm across the pillow today. He also used his left thumb to wipe away some crust from his left eye. That is the first fine motor skill he has displayed. Tim will be trying out a Neuro-Chair today. I'm not totally sure what that is, but it's not a bed and should help him with sitting up. Not today, but soon, they will give Tim some crushed ice containing dye to see if he can swallow without it coming out of his Tracheotomy. If he passes this test then he can start eating food, and get rid of the feeding tube through his abdomen.
