Tim's brain pressure is still ranging 23-25. There are strange red feverish patches that are showing up on Tim's skin. They come and go. One nurse said that it was his body's way of regulating his temperature. He is receiving the Manitol (meds for brain swelling) on a schedule every 6 hours. If necessary, they are giving him additional doses to reduce his brain pressure. This morning Tim made it through the 6 hour segment without any additional doses of the Manitol for the first time.
By the afternoon, the nurse decided to remove as much covering on his body as possible (while still keeping him decent). His brain pressure and body temperature responded well to this. His brain pressure dropped some to a range of 19-21. They put a cushioned boot on Tim left foot to relieve the pressure from pushing on the footboard of the bed. He was given a scheduled dose of Manitol and his pressure dropped to 18-19.
In the evening, we noticed that Tim's face was turning red. A different nurse from before suggested that it might be a side effect from the seizure medication. These red feverish patches seem scary to us, but the doctors and nurse staff call it typical for his condition.
