Tim's ICP (brain pressure) numbers are hovering around 20-22. His doctor has decided to reduce the amount of Manitol (medication to relieve swelling in the brain) by half to see if he can sustain these pressures without the help of the medication.
A decision has also been made by his doctor to do a tracheotomy by sometime tomorrow. This will alleviate the irritation to the inside of the throat from so many tubes fed in through the mouth. His feeding tube will be surgically placed through his abdomen to his stomach on Thursday.
If all goes well, and the conditions are right, Friday may be the day they start the process of waking Tim up.
