Tuesday, April 14th

4:00pm - We just had a great scare. Donna had left the hospital to run some errands today, so Tim was alone at the hospital. He received his routine physical therapy, and the therapist left him sitting in a wheelchair alone in the room. The therapist usually leaves him to sit in a chair for an hour before he returns. However, one of us has always been there in the past. This time he was alone, and escaped. The staff could not find him anywhere. Fortunately, another patients mother that we have gotten to know very well spotted him in the hospital garage. She really didn't think it was him, since he was walking without help and did not have a helmet on. She mentioned this to a staff member once she got upstairs. They retrieved him immediately. As far as we know, he is not hurt. We are still going to ask that they examine him thoroughly to make sure he is not harmed. The thought of "what if" cannot escape my mind. He was not wearing his helmet. Had he fallen and hit the side of his head that has no skull protection, it would have been tragic. At this point, Donna is still on her way to the hospital. I will update as I know more.

8:00pm - I talked with Mother, and she said that Tim had a CAT scan and everything is fine. Tim was very confused when he was in the parking garage, and very frightened. Once he was brought back to his room, the nurses really got on to him. I don't think this is his fault. He said that he will do whatever the Doctors and Nurses tell him to do for the next few weeks. The staff is conveniently quiet about the subject when talking to the family. Donna does not want to leave him alone at the hospital anymore. Who could blame her. She will need help with this. If you find that you have some time to relieve Donna or another family member for a few hours, please call her on her cell phone or email me at lisaallen30@yahoo.com .
